how to keep a rocker arc smoth with out chatter on a rocking horse? souds like a herd on a wood floor Thanks krazy

Have only done this on rocking chairs, but it should work for a rocking horse, too. I applied a thin piece of felt to the full length of both rockers with spray adhesive. Otherwise it's a matter of getting both rockers exactly the same in arc and length, then making sure they are attached in exactly the same orientation, sort of like lining up the front end on your car. If everything is not right on the money, those rockers will "chatter" as they rock, trying to establish an equilibrium. The equivalent of front wheel shimmy in a vehicle front end misallignment. The horse may actually creep across the floor. I just told my niece and grandaughter that their rockers' noise is just hoof beats. hehehe Let the relatives deal with it! Al |
