| | Just Checking In Greetings and Salutations One and All! I is back! When 75% of the leaves have turned and the thermometer on my porch starts reading in the 30's I figure that's the Good Lord's way of telling me that it's time that I got my sorry behind back to the Sunshine State. Tennessee is a beautiful state and I relish every minute that we're able to spend there but after living in the land of eternal sunshine for over thirty-years there is no way that I could weather out a winter....brrrrrr! I admit it... I'm a candy %#@! While I was up in God's country I had a stroke of inspiration or perhaps that was perspiration... Anyway, I'd like to share it with who ever has an interest. Actually, I had two moments of enlightenment but I'll refrain from dazzling you with my brilliance all at once and save it for another time..... The Whittler I sat on a rock, pocketknife in my hand, Whittlin’ a figure, that of a man. Swift sure cuts, the wood chipped away. Not a care in the world, no thought of the day. Around me the woods, with hues of Fall, Trees standing glorious, statues so tall. Leaves of bright yellows, gold and deep reds, Rustling from the wind, music in my head. A perfect day, a perfect world. Leaves drift on by – my cares unfurl. Could this have been, so long ago? When the world was formed, I’d like to know… How God felt?

| | Re: Just Checking In Eddy .. You old scoundrel you .. good to have you back ... Been missing you ..
I know you had a great time in God's country Tenn. .. But your like me .. we have very mild winters down here and Iam not use to heavy cold snap's either, even though I would love to retire up in Tenn.
It's so good to have you talking again and believe me .. your humor is missed when your gone ..
Glad to have you back ..
Gene

| | Re: Just Checking In Welcome back Eddy, you were missed, just got back online myself after having moved for the winter to Yuma Arizona. I read in another post that Hi Ho wrote that said he hoped that all the Canadians that were signing up left some wood for him. After travelling thru the whole state of Arizona to get here I now know why he said that , he's pretty much used up all the wood that was here. Sure glad I brought a pacsel of good Canuck Basswood with me.

| | Re: Just Checking In Welcome back, Eddy! Was wondering where you went.
So you're a "word whittler as well", huh?
I think we've all spent days like that. Or at least we should!

| | Re: Just Checking In Welcome back Eddy. I'll make sure to never invite you up to Ontario for Christmas, unless I provide the parka and ever burning wood stove for you to snuggle up to. |

| | Re: Just Checking In Thanks Guys and Gals! Believe me, I missed you all too! For as wonderful as all that peace and solitude was, it's nice to be able to talk to friends! Al (Slather)... I've been in a lot of US States but have never made it to Aizona but from all those westerns I've watched I've always wondered how you carve a cactus! Kitaye... My grandfather's kin was from the Quebec area and that's about as cold as I'd ever want to get. If Ontario is colder than that then please give my invitation to a penguin!
