Default Its Over & We are Back!

I have not been active on the board for quite a while. I have been laying low due to a nasty battle with Workers Comp and Insurance Companies. But as of yesterday they got a court order to pay my hospital bills and they have made an offer to settle out of court for lost wages. I have had Private Eyes Following me around for over three years. I was surprised with some of the pictures they had of us. I had to shut my carving business down for a while. They were trying to prove I was just trying to collect unemployment and workers comp benefits while I was running a business. They even had some of my posts from this board. Luckily the business has not shown much of a profit and the judge just considered it a hobby that we make a little money at. So if Workers Comp and Liberty Mutual Insurance co is still reading my posts Nah Na Nan Na Nan Na!!!!
My Day job has been keeping me busy as I went back into management (swore I would never be a manager again) as I Can't physically hold my own
As an Electrician/ Mechanic anymore.
Anna has kept her end of the business going but I haven't carved much since christmas. Will take me a little while to get back into it just as soon as i Get the Honey Do list done that I havent done In a couple of years.
I am sure glad its over!!!!
Goody

Goody,
All I can say is, GOODY!!!
Not true, here's more...Insurance people, EVERY one of them at EVERY level, are just below slugs on the evolutionary chain. About a thousand steps below dung of any kind. Anybody out there, if I've offended you, wake up. I could go on for a few years or the rest of time, but since they're not worth a single penny, they're not worth another word or thought.
Welcome back, Goody! You've been missed!

Glad you're back Goody! Glad you're got your life back too. I hope all is going to be okay, but watch your back. Those two organizations you just did battle with really hate to loose. Tom H

Congratulations Goody ...... finally good to hear that someone has had some sense from the courts.

I've been going through a similar disgusting battle for over nine years, and have resigned myself to the fact there is no justice in the world. The insurance companies will spend any amount of money, lie to anyone and everyone, twist every fact to their advantage, to deny benefits to an injured client. They work together to scheme and defraud, and have a great profit making industry going for themselves, and even have the government(s) in bed with them, and have the government firmly convinced that the world can't do without them! They have no shame, have no morals and certainly no honour.

They have doctors who will say whatever the insurance company wants them to say, for a price; they have deep pockets to drown an injured person with mountains of paper, bull sh*t and investigators that will do anything, including editing video footage to make things appear different than they actually are. (they don't get work unless they produce results) You pay all your life for protection, protection for your family in case something happens, and when something does unfortunately occur, you find it's not worth the paper it's written on!!! They ignore all the doctors reports, specialists reports, testing results and rehab center reports, brain injury recovery center, etc, etc, etc ...... and search until they can find some doctor who makes a living from writing conflicting reports. Sh*t .... we even had one doctor they brought in change his report after a second insurance company involved hired him and paid more, the SOB! These are the sort of people who kick you when you're down. Play games with a person who can't defend themselves!

Insurance agents, feel no responsibility for selling you fraudulent coverage. The companies themselves lie, cheat, mislead and outright steal from you! Even our disability insurer through work is no better! I paid all my life for coverage, I enjoyed my job, worked hard, studied hard and I was good at my job, I was a "company man" through and through, and a fat lot of good, hard work got me. They told me if I wanted my benefits to sue them.

Yes Goody, they will use text from discussion groups in court, they did mine. But I wasn't able to continue in court, physically or mentally. Collapsed in fact, much to their delight and the judge forced them to cut a deal. Some deal ....... the doctors made a fortune, the lawyers made even more and insurance company walked away laughing, but not so good for me.

Sorry ..... but this touches a nerve. We still don't know how this will turn out! Haven't had any income for the past five years or more, and the future don't look too rosy! But ..... I can still carve (slowly and painfully, given enough time) and they haven't repossessed my tools or computer, or cut the power off "yet"!!! May as well laugh as cry, we've shed enough tears over it already.

Don't ever trust an insurance company or any of their employees. The black hearted pirates, they are so low down and dirty, they have to reach real high to wipe a snakes butt in passing! I'm done!

Bob

Squbrigg,
I tried to keep my temper down through this whole thing. I was able to prove a video was manipulated. These Doctors that you are sent to for disabilities must have forgotten about the the oath they once took. I do not like my lawyer and told him so but knowing he would be just as much a smart a$$ in court as he was with me it may be to my advantage. I fought hard and was ready to go thru a jury trial not looking forward to it but ready. I guess they felt it was better to end it than to take the chance I would win a jury trial. Lawyer said I may be awarded as much as $250,000.00 in a jury trial but could take years to settle I wanted this over and went for the payoff. You did a great job of summing up how I really feel about these people.
Goody

Goody first let me say how glad I am to hear you back with us. Second I know what you mean about workmens comp and the rest of the insurance scam. I won't say anymore I think Bob covered it pretty good and I would just add fuel to the fire. But best of all you are back among friends who missed you and your wisdom. WELCOME BACK!!! Now get busy carving and doing the honey do's.
Ron

Goody, it is good to see you back with us, and I am sorry that you had to suffer the additional pain of enduring the injustices of those people. You have a big heart and are a kind and generous human being. Your every post and action shouts it out! It is typical of the depths that these "people" will stoop to, to see their way to win cases against ordinary hard working folks who have the unfortunate occasion to end up injured through no fault of their own.

I apologize to all for venting in my previous post! You would have little idea how cruel these people can be to one who's life is difficult enough just trying to deal with the life altering injuries they have sustained, and are struggling to come to terms with those changes and limitations. They are heart-less, soul-less and I hope there is a special place in Hell just for them!

Ron,
Your Quote
"Its only A Handicap if You make it one"
I refuse to let this whoop me. The doctors say get back to a normal life. The Private Investigators take pictures of you in a normal life. I asked my lawyer once if I could take my walking stick to their knees and then ask them to do what I do. Yeah I can appear to Look ok but they don't have pictures of me going up the steps of my house on all fours after a bad day at work and the pain in the evenings is a little more than I want to deal with. They Don't have pictures of me sitting on a curb waiting for Anna to come get me with the van after we try to walk in the evenings and my leg locks up a 1/4 mile form the house. They don't have pictures of this compression boot I will have to wear the rest of my life. My lawyer was mad at me a lot because I wouldn't just sit around and say woe is me I hurt to much to work. Said I was hard to represent. They tried to say I was hung up on drugs when all I take is ibuprofen. They could not produce prescription receipts to back their statements. After I got Fired from from where I was working at the time of the injury a found another job within two weeks. The company I work for now hired me for my Knowledge and not my physical abilities. Your right Ron you can let it whip you or you can whip it. I may suffer a little for the doing the physical things I like to do but I can kick back in the evenings and carve and I can now be back among friends on the board. He-Double-L I can even ride my motorcycle with out looking over my shoulder (they had pictures in court of me on the bike funny thing is only pictures of me sitting on it not with the bike in motion).
to be back among friends.
Goody
