I am in north Ga a bit northwest of Dahlonega, and we got between 6 to 8 inches of snow last night. Now, it's doing the southern thing and raining on it to make it into mud. It was pretty for a little while. All of the animals are either scared or going wildly playful. Chickens - scared...horses and dogs...- wildly playful.
Still have power, dry firewood, pretending we can't drive out, just because.
That's a very freaked out southern chicken in the third picture on the fence.

We got enough to cover everything last night! It was the first time my 1-year-old Australian Sheppard ever saw snow! She was hilarious! Dancing, leaping, burying her nose in it! She was trying to scoop it into her mouth while running and kept plowing her nose into the ground. What a site!
Snow's gone now, lasted til about 2pm. Enough winter for me! But it looks like it's going to be highs in the 30's, low in the teens for the next week, no telling what that'll bring.
It was sure pretty this morning!

Well, we didn't really get anything close to what was expected (thank goodness). the first bit was snow and sleet. It snowed enough to say that it did....and was gone from the grassy areas within an hour. It then sleeted a bit - just enough to show up on the road for another few minutes...gone just as quickly.

The second "wave" as the weather folks called the expected freezing rain was even less eventful.

Alas, I had to work and missed on some prime possible carving time!
