Every day at 5:00 P.M. I feed the fish. I thought you might enjoy the pictures of these hungry critters. As I walk up to the shore they start lining up in rows like little soldiers. They are lined up as far as I can see into the water. Then when that first bread hits the water....they explode into a frenzy trying to get the first bite.

Loved the pics, Joy! I have a lil' critter pet, too....actually 5 chipmunks, but this one is my favorite. He calls US when he's ready to be fed, but sometimes he'll come when called. Bonnie

You are right, Mitchell. I am well-trained. I even feel guilty if I'm late....but they wait for me LOL Bonnie, cute critter. I raised 8 baby rabbits this spring after we ran over the next with the lawn mower. I always have something I am nursing back to health. |

Looks like a "golden mantel squirrel" we had those all over in colorado, my wife insisted on feeding them....we have a picture of one taking a peanut out of my pocket! but they about took the place over afterwhile! Finally, I didn't have the heart to hurt them, so I live trapped 58 of them and took them down the road and across the bridge of the creek.....you could see the little suckers hiking back with their suitcases in hand and almost beat me home LOL

Chipmunks, critters........aaaarrrrgggghhhh! Our yard is full of all kinds of crtitters, chipmunks, red squirrels, racoons, voles, mice, deer, coyotes, fox, and the occasional bear. We don't mind most of them, but the chippys, red squirrels, mice and racoons are quite destructive so they get Trapped out and transplanted. So far 17 chippies, 29 red squirrels, 7 racoons and innnnnumerable mice have been moved to someone else's woodlot. But I THINK DAVE IS RIGHT, THEY HEAD BACK SUITCASE IN HAND! Al |

Yes, Charlotte a lot of us carvers love Nature. If it is alive, I find it fascinating. My little fishies wouldn't even make a good meal for all your big catfish. What kind of aviary do you have? Al, hubby used to trap raccoons and transport them to the other side of the lake until he met the guy across the lake who was trapping them and bringing them to our side of the lake LOL |

LOL As you can see in the picture below, I too have about 6 'Chippies' that visited me daily whenI was outside on the deck carving. The one in the picture was "Scarlet" - named for a scar on her cheek and a chip out of her ear. (Was called "Scarface" until late spring after she had young and I could see that she was a 'she') They come and stare at me until I go and get the peanuts for them. I think I had them all named for a bit until a couple met up with the neighbour's cat......oops. That's all part of it, I guess. However, I got some great sketches for this winter's carving subjects! Ma Nature sure has some great critters!

Joy thank you for sharing your critters, and to you other's too. It is true I feel carvers also love nature--afterall a lot of our carvings are based on natures creatures. I enjoyed looking at all your friends! Kathy
