I met Garon, Carver6 from Springfield Mo and his lovely wife today, Had a great time looking over carving together and watching Lynn in the Carving contest and Just talking.
Donna, Garon said he had met you several months ago and I told him the little bride and I had met you and thought we caused you to get to your destination later than you had planned.
Was nice to meet him and his wife and talk. Making plans for when we are through Sringfield Mo later on.
I had taken my * year old granddaughter with me as she had never been to a carving show and wanted to go, plus she is good company and chattered all the way down and All the way back but she did get very tired standing while us older generation talked. One thing is for sure about her, she was impressed and wants to get started back on carving. However, None of the gloves we tried on fit her correctly and she told everyone that her Papa will not let her carve again till she has the glove. Hmmm, Maybe I should take heed of my word and do the same every time. I did notice that in the carving contest of about fifteen(didn't count them), but about half did not wear a glove or even a thumb guard.
It was neat watching Lynn carve with that Chinese utility knife and how fast he was and he got Second. Of course, I think he should of recieved 1st.
A little story here, The little bride was hurting from walking through the show and didn't complain as she was having a good time considering her knee problem. I notice she disappeared several times and when we got home, She had bought a bunch of wood and she had taken it to the truck and put itin the back and when we got home, I lifted the tonneua cover and there was all this wood and I asked her if it was for US, smarting of, as I knew it was, but she said NO! It was her wood, so today, I bought me some wood.

Found some good Butternut worth the price.
Another thing, I met the man who has bought out Rossitters and everything will stay the same till Aug or Sept when they will move the equipment to NDakota, but plans on making the same carving show cuircuit as Trudy has and he plans on the same 800 number and web site and catalogs and he hopes to give the same friendly service. Enjoyable time spent with him also. Great selection of bark and northern basswood and some great butternut pieces.
Danny Reb and his lovely wife from Sherman Tx was there and here is my stupidity, I knew Danny Reb was from Tx but could not remember from where. Sherman tx 4/10s of a mile off of Highway 75, the same Highway, Me and the little bride travels to Dallas every year and Never stopped by to visit them. Now that is stupidity. Anyways, we plan to stop by Danny Rebs place this fall.
There were several Tx exhibitors there at the show and some excellent carvings.
Lynn, I hope your Stage Coach robbery scene got People's choice but in viewing the competition, you have a run for your money, However, the little bride voted for you yesterday and the little granddaughter asked me how you win and I showed the voting slips and she wrote your booth number down. Oh, BTW, I cheated, I voted yesterday and today also for booth 29. hehehehehehehehe
Well, as Dave would say, "don't get Kenny started", so, I will shut it down.
Till we meet again.
