Default Hacked?

I was just on the carver gallery and not logged in. I looked at the bottom of the page and see my name listed, but not first like I was logged in. I was logged in earlier, but then logged off. Wondering if this means someone has hacked into my computer?

So since I am logged in now, I went back to the gallery and my name is listed first, like it should be.

I think it depends on whether or not you checked "Remember Me" when you logged in.

Something strange is going on. I too click on 'remember me' and I still have to log in every time.

I don't have to log in every time, but it seems to make a difference if you check the "Remember Me" before or after you type the password.

Unless you specifically log out the forum will consider you still logged in for at least 60 minutes from your last action on the forum. If you were not logged and you saw your name on the logged in list, most likely the forum was in this 60 minute window and assumed you were still logged in.

The forum uses a cookie set in your browser to track your session while logged in. If you cleared your cookies (or your browser did this automatically which some do when you close it) and you visited the site, the forum would treat you as a new visitor until you logged back in and reset that cookie.

I hope this helps explain.

I was logged out when I saw my name there. I don't press remember me and I always log out. I was on about 30 minutes before that, but logged out. After I log out it says something like all cookies cleared. That's why it was strange when I went onto the gallery, being logged out and there was my name at the bottom. I'm not upset or anything, just a little concerned!

Claudio , I am fine on this site , but on the scrollsaw site (I think you do that one too ) I have the same problem as Marci . I click "remember me" and it doesn't work . I still have type in name and password every time . It is probably something we have to do on our end . Any suggestions ? We get a little spoiled and having to type it in is pretty rough ! Thanks .

Hey forest, I had the same experience this morning, I've got to clean that mirror, might make me look a little better.
I use google chrome as a browser, and it was causing me logging in problems, Claudio fixed that up for me. Although sometimes when monitoring a post, my password will be rejected , after several tries, I log out of the site, log back in and my password is accepted. Too much for my old head to understand, but if it works, hey don't fix it, grin.
