Well if this don't beat all. We just get rid of that pesky Fay and along comes this angry fella named Gustav. It looks like he's taking aim at the entire center portion of the Gulf of Mexico and right now everyone from Texas to Florida needs to be double checking their hurricane supplies and filling the old pick-up with petrol! Is this dejevu or what? Didn't we have a storm last year around Labor Day, and the year before that, and the year before that? This is getting to be awfully annoying! Somehow, hotdogs, hamburgers, potato salad, chips, beer and soda just doesn't quite go with "evacuation!" They ought to have a rule against that! Oh well! I guess all us Gulf Coasters can do now is watch and wait! You all be careful out there! ![]()

Eddy, it sure does come along every Labor Day! You might as well pack up and come on up to Tn. Take care of yourself. Love that Thunderstorm...he looks pretty lethal.

Eddy, Love the graphic you put on there..... I am just dumb struck that another, possibly huge storm is forecast to hit New Orleans. Of course, Charley is still fresh in my mind....that sudden, unforseen right hand turn that took everyone by surprise...that is a warning to be on alert here in Florida even though our part of the state is not within the "cone of uncertainty" they show.... and.....right behind Gustav is Hanna...... sit up and pay close attention folks. |

Good point Susieq! While we don't want to be seen as crying wolf to our good friends like Oscar and Catbird, we still need to watch Gustav real close because that's exactly what happened to Charley. The high that was over Florida broke down and allowed it curve eastward off it's predicted course. The Tampa Bay area at the expense of North Port dodged a hugh bullet. You just never know about the storms. The fanciest radars in the world can only tell you where they are at any given moment. They still can't tell you exactly where they will be eight hours from now. Right now we need to be thinking about our forum members like Gene that live over on that side of the Gulf for if Gustav keeps to its predicted track they'll feel his wrath.

Thoughts of Rita are in our minds already .. There's alot of nervous people right now and if we would get a hit from it .. I might not be on for awhile .. Say a prayer for us .. God Bless Gene

Our prayers for all of you on the Gulf. Hurricanes don't bother us in SEKansas but have our share of Tornados. Understand where y'll are coming from. None the less, Our prayers are there.
