Re: Goodbye for the summer. Thanks one and all for the kind words and encouragement.
Blake, I have gone once before and it was really exciting.
Jim and Kathy, thanks, and I will report in when I get home. Perhaps some good carving ideas to share. I will be looking for them this time.
Thanks Andy for the well wish.
HI Ho - I had thought about buying them there but the time constraints I have make it necessary for me to pack knives in the checked baggage. All went well last time. I really wanted to carve on the plane flight out - 15+ hours, but my better senses kicked in, or was it kicked me, so I packed them away.
Ron, I just looked at a CD of the last time I went, the culture stuff was great. I hope I can rep the USA well (and ICHTHUS). I will look for the boxwood and other kinds.
Say, that brings up a question. Ron, do you know what the rules are about taking wood across borders?
Thanks Corey and Kenny. I leave next Wednesday morning. Hope to have a few more posts before then. I say I won't post from China because getting on line can be iffy. But perhaps I can get on line somehow and check out the forum. We shall see.
Thanks Bonnie. Will anticipate seeing all the good carving I won't get to do this summer from all of you. I just got Affiliated Wood Carvers Congress material. Dang, but I am hating missing it already. I noticed the second Bishop class is full already. I am going to have to sign up doubly quick next time around.
