I also have an iv pole from the hospital. Took an extra one to where we meet for someone to take home. I also managed to get my hands on orthopedic chisels and use those for woodcarving as well. No sense sending it to the dump!

Just a thought folks! If you live anywhere close to a Federal medical facility check with the local scrappers. For instance, the VA doesn't save it's old equipment and it's against the law to just give it away to employees or anyone else that just asks for it. Everything is collected in a scrap area from those IV poles to chairs to beds and then the scrappers come in and lot bid on them.

I'm amazed at what gets tossed. If the wheels don't turn on an IV pole (mop string? fiber, etc), out it goes. I've got several IV poles, good for clothes hangers!
I wrapped tape around the jaws of the hemostats = very useful for holding small pieces of shell for shaping on a grindstone in the drill press.
Don't forget to ask your dentist if they are tossing out old picks, nothing better to get shavings out of a crevice.
