Default FYI Wally Mart

Last week I went to Wally Mart to pick up a new carving glove and much to my disappointment discovered that all they had in stock was some cheap plastic coated cloth thing that they were calling a filleting glove. The nice stainless steel gray Rapala glove which I had been used to buying was not being carried anymore. Thinking that it was just an over sight at that one store I visited another Walmart today and much like last week found the same thing. The good $10.99 stainless steel Rapala's have been replaced with $1.96 pairs of light gray gloves with a blue plastic coating that wouldn't protect your hands from a butter knife. Anyone reading previous posts about venturing to Walmart for a carving glove needs to take heed. They won't find them there now! I ended up at my local bait shop! There's more than one way to skin a cat!

Thanks for the warning Eddy. I've been putting off going to Walmart for the last few weeks but had planned to venture in there soon to find a glove. Now I don't need to worry and can try somewhere else.

You're absolutely right, Eddy, and there's always a cat hanging around a bait shop. When your skinning knife is good and sharp, it's good to have a glove.

One question though. After you've got the skin off the cat, what do you do with the rest of it? It's not as cuddly anymore, from what I've seen.

Depends on the restuarant in which they are served.....fish sauce adds to their flavor...
