Talking FYI Some Info On me

Hello my name is Carl Johnson, I am posting some information about myself for everyone to know, I am a male was born November 1st 1989 could have been born on holloween but my mom wouldn't have that.Smile Right now I stand at 6foot 3inches around 250 pounds, I am german, swedish, ojibwa, and french still growing wear a size 13 WW shoe. I grow my hair long and donate it to wigs for kids, was told many times I have such nice hair why not grow it long. I have lived in every sate except 12 or 13, do to my fathers work and because of this I have been homeschooled on and off. After a while my mom said to my dad he had one year to find her a farm because she wasn't raising three boys in minneapolis. Then when I turned 15 I was going to a local public school, my mom told me if I wanted to I could do my highschool through the same correspondance school my older brother did and now my yourger brother is starting, American School Lansing, Ill. I did all four years worth of highschool in about 9 months, they let you work at your own pace so I decided to get it done and not waste any time. I graduated with a 93% GPA, I had to wait untill my 16th birthday to recive my diploma once I had that the government would have had to pay for my collage untill I was 18. I only found one school that had exactly what I wanted it was in upstate Washington right by Canada, my mom said it was to far for me to go. Around this time I seen an add for a carving class it was only $10 with materials supplied so I took it and have been hooked since, it will be three years this December. I love to fish and hunt, I do leatherworking, bladsmithy, I like to practice survival skills making fire with sticks building shelters primative hunting skills, alot of stuff on the woodlathe have tryed just about every different aspect of woodcarving, I kayak alot, lift weights practice martial arts love to ride my bike up and down the dirt roads out here. Do some carpentry and general woodworking, like to shoot guns, and I raise and grow roses, along with a big garden, I have raised pigs, goats, sheep, ducks, geese, chickens, cows and many other farm animals. I posted this so everyone knows who I am, I don't care what anyone thinks of me I am not vain and I don't get angry I am straight and currently in a relationship with a girl from Japan. If anyone has any questions let me know I always try to help when I can, but be aware I have been told I am to smart for my own good, better to be a smart *** then a dumb ***. Uff Da! that was a mouth full

Hi Carl,
I never thought you were a girl (comment or maybe a typo from other thread), but they thought I was a guy here for about a year, so just be glad the board isn't gender specific in its acceptance of you.

Great little bio there. You've certainly led a varied existence so far. The encouragement you've received at home certainly shows through in your willingness to learn.
I look forward to seeing your progress.
Thor

Talking Re: FYI Some Info On me

I am often told by my friends online that I talk to much, but the fact is it's alot easier to type then to talk. In reality I am fairly quite not shy just don't talk alot, I have also been made fun of for my MN accent. But then again alot more people think it's cool. Well Thor I think most would think you are a guy with a name like Thor, I try to stay away from gender specific titles unless I know the person well and I don't really know anyone on here that well yet. I feel it is better to be informed then jump to conclusions.

Hi Carl. I knew you were a guy. I saw your photo in your profile, but it's nice to know your name. Out of curiosity, why didn't you include your first name in your introduction? It makes it so much easier responding and more personal.

Your post really gave me a chance to see a bigger picture of you and know who you are. It's nice to hear about your relationship since I am a Sansei, third generation Japanese-American.

I remember going to Waseca about 35 years ago for my job. Some of the locals thought I was a businessman from Japan, there to buy real estate, as that is what they were doing then in much of the U.S. LOL! If only.

Nice to know you and thanks for your post.

You like that saying well you are welcome to use it if you want, my father always talks about I think he calls it the inner vision, it's the ability to plan out somthing in your head from start to finish, wether it be a building or some form of artwork my great grandpa had this skill, he worked on a woodlathe and that is where I got interested in working with a woodlathe. As for carving I can imagine exactly what I want and where I want it in any peice of wood, but as that information travels from my brain to my fingers to much of it is lost. When we build stuff we start with dimensions and a very crude drawing that's it then we sawmill the lumber and just build it no plans at all, if you look through the off topic posts there is a deerstand I built not long ago.
