| | Re: Florida Members Check in??? I'm South of Nashville near Lawrenceburg, Davey Crockett country.
A lot of my neighbors are Amish, horse and buggy, no electricity. Really great neighbors with great senses of humor!
You can still find land around here for under $3,000 an acre. I recently saw 39 acres with a 4 year old home, a small barn and a 4 acre pond, sell for $150,000! If it had been closer to me I might have tried to buy it, but it was 25 miles away.
Check out www.realtor.com I think you'll like it!
Have a good evening!

| | Re: Florida Members Check in??? Glad to hear you're all okay, I hope all our friends are and pray for all those who aren't!
We tried one of those weather alert radios a couple years ago and it wouldn't work were we are. Too mountainy we were told.
I bought hubby one of those crank up emergency radios for Christmas, it works terrific and he loves it. It has weather alert on it too, it has a lot of stuff, even recharges your cell phone. They do come up with great stuff, don't they?! Deborah |

| | Re: Florida Members Check in??? Ahh......you like racing do you?? You can't beat Bristol's races.....AND.....I work for the corporate offices of Food City which sponsor the busch race in the fall and the Nextel Cup Race in the Spring....so I can get tickets! You should think about it!! Let me know if you need more information about the area. Abingdon, Virginia is 15 miles away (my home town) and it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to! Just something to think about......don't forget to watch the race at the end of March!
As Bart mentioned, Gary Falin lives right down the road close to Knoxville (2 hours) and so does Wayne Shinlever. There is also Smoky Mountain Woodcarvers and Dollywood right around the corner.

| | Re: Florida Members Check in??? FLmama, check this site http://www.carvingpatterns.com/projects/burn-five.htm
L.S. Irish (Susan on this message board) has a plethora of really fine patterns for all kinds of burning and carving. A few, like the one on this link, are free and come with a short tutorial to get you started. She also answers questions if you have some, and she has time.
