Default Flea Market Find

Good Evening Everyone!

I have been absent for a while, but now am back! Previous job restrictions would not allow me to check the Message Board during the day, and since I did not have the internet at home....well, you get the picture!

We are vacationing in Colorado, and went to a flea market in Denver yesterday. I came across a booth that had a tackle box full of almost new Flexcut palm tools, 25 to be exact, 2 Helvie Knives, a new Lyons knife, several Harmen micro tools, and a Dockyard micro gouge set. The guy was asking $80 for the whole works, as he had bought this at a garage sale from the widow of a carver. Well, I about broke my arm reaching for my wallet!

The real surprise came when we made it back to our condo for the evening. I was taking inventory of all the goodies, (kind of like a kid at Christmas time!), and came across another palm tool, (I think it is a Harmen), that I had not seen when I was going through it when I bought it.

Well, I my jaw about dropped in the floor when I picked it up! It had a face carved in it, with the signature, H ENLOW, '04!

I guess maybe the guy had taken a class from Harold at one time! At any rate, I would not part with that one tool for twice the price of what I paid for the whole works!

Some of the tools have to go to Rick for sharpening, and you can bet that the Enlow piece will be displayed in my carving room in a prominent place!

Take Care!
Tim

Tim,

Great find! I'm sure you are happy to have those tools in your collection. Yes, I can agree that the Enlow tool would be one to hang on to! Congrats!

Blake

Wow! What a find! I'd say $300 would have been a good deal! Not counting the carved one. Nice!

That happened to me also at a flea market with fishing gear.I saw a nice tackle box full of expensive lures and other items worth around $100.00. I paid $20.00.The reason I got a good deal was she got into an argument with her husband, he went for a walk then I walked up.Not as good of find as yours but with a twisted tale.

I got a fly rod, all set up, including 40 flies for $10 once at a yard sale. Caught my limit in trout with it the same day! I was the one really hooked!
Most of my Ashley Iles tools (over 100) came from ebay; some I paid very little for, a few I paid above retail for because I WANTED them!
But Tim's find is hard to beat!
