Default Finished Finally

This is why I haven't been carving, I have been busy building myself a new deerstand and while my dad is home from work we have gone fishing every day for the last week. Tell me what ya guys and gals think, I outgrew my old stand and this one is 5'x8' and 6' tall inside so I can almost stand up in it. In the last picture you can see my shop/house in the background, I do all my carving, turning, leatherwork and bladesmithing downstairs and the upstairs is a kiln/my house. My dad and I built that building last Dec. and me and my little bro where told it would be a quilting/sewing shop for our mom. She decided it was to big for her and they gave it to us for X-Mas insteadCool.

Well sir, Number one, I hope you eat what you kill. Number two, I hope you use a bow and arrow, at least give the poor critters a fighting chance. That's all, I'm done.

Looks like a nice stand to me. Good luck on filling up the freezer this fall!

Nice!

I'm looking forward to having time to bowhunt sometime later this month. I have something going on every weekend this month. Happily, two of those weekends will include lots of carving and one will include fishing in Oklahoma.

Good luck!

Scott

That is deffinatly not a bow stand, and we hunt for meat. We eat the entire animal and process them ourselves, and always take them down with one shot so they do not have to suffer. Nothing gets wasted, good luck to those of you who also hunt.

A good set of ear plugs might come in handy on that first shot.

We are the poor critters around here... heck Cliff we can't walk across the street without having to wait for deer running up and down the street. 2 deer hit on my street last week. They tear up the gardens, flowers, trees everything. They just made it legal to hunt in the city limits here. Just too darn many of them here and most of the midwest. If hunters here don't like the meat for themselves, they are filling the homeless shelter freezers with them. They got to go! At one time the state of Iowa had a guy on the payroll whose job was too shoot deer in and around Des Moines. Don't know if they still do.

We are actually in an intensive harvest area, they have dropped the prices for tags and we can now harvest 5 deer a peice. They are getting worried about CWD, just to many deer around. We also have the food shelf program, some of the farmers around ehre are alowed to shoot them year round and then the meat is butcherd locally and given to needy families.
