Default Even In The Mist Of Tragedy , Humor Can Be Found

Even in all the terrible mist of this storm .. you can find a little bit of humor in everything ..

Heres some photos I wanted to share with you that were taken in hard hit areas after the hurricane ..

Just a moment to bring a smile in the mist of hardship

If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert , in five years there'd be a shortage of sand.

Gene, after all you've been thru I'm happy to see you have still maintained your sense of humor. I paricularly like the one of the 2 fellas sittin on the park bench. Did you by chance send any of those in to the local news paper?

I'm with you Cliff, I also like the two guys on a bench. I'm sitting here carving thinking up captions for the picture.

for instance:
1. Gotta light bud?
2. I'm a thinkin about movin into that highrise.
3. My wrinkles are getten crowded and crawlin all over each other sittin here.

I feel for ya'll Gene. I'm wondering why we haven't heard from your area like we did New Orleans. That ought open a box of worms(comments). Not being critical just the truth.

Gene... Bob has brought up a good point. How is the recovering going in your neck of the woods? The American newspaper media is so fickle! Once the major bleeding stops they move on to something else and that's the last we ever hear of it like nothing ever happened. No Hurricane Ike! No fires in California! No tornadoes in the mid-west! We never hear about the recovery, just about the death and destruction of the initial occurence!

Eddy and Everyone who has been so gracious to pray for us ..

The truth is things are still pretty bad around here .. people are out of homes living in tents and trailers but FEMA is delivering small mobile homes for alot of residence ..

People are trying to stay strong .. but when you loose everything and so close to christmas .. Hardship does set in on most ..

There have been wonderful acts of kindness displayed by residents of all counties .. and God has been so good to most all of us ..

But alot of people are having to battle insurance companies right now and that is depressing to so many ..

Dont get me wrong .. I know insurance companies are busy .. but after loosing your home and the stress of it .. battling with a insurance company is sometimes too much for some people ..

Now dont get me wrong for saying this Eddy .. because I know these things happen and I understand it .. But because there was so many problems that took place with FEMA after the last big hurricane .. Fema is alot slower to act right now and watching things very closely , which they should be .. so alot of hurting people are not going to get much from them right away ..

Now please dont misunderstand what Iam saying .. but unknown to my knowledge .. I was told The money problems during the last big hurricane was unbelievable to the FEMA checkbook and future of how FEMA handles disasters are going to be tighter from now on .. which is understandable .. its the tax payers money ..

But in the good news .. the communtiy has seen some of the most wonderful and gracious churches and organizations come in and help with all things ..

Maybe thats the way it should be .. maybe we depend too much on the government for everything ..

anyway .. God Bless all those who have blessed us for all of you for your prayers ..

Thanks so much you great ladies and gentlemen .. you are true americans ..

Gene

I wonder if we should get some fishing poles?
Guys on the bench.
You where all in my prayers Gene, I know about fighting with the insurance companies, not after a disaster like this though.
