Don't have an Olympus Goody, been drooling over a new Pentex. If I get the commission I just submitted then I'll be getting one of those. The only thing I've heard about digital SLR's is, be very careful when changing lens, not to allow any dust into the camera, they aren't as forgiving as a 35mm SLR.

Let us know how you make out though, I'd be very interested in your impressions and results. I currently use a Kodak 6490 and an old Pentex K 1000, 35 mm SLR and am looking for a better digital.

I have a Cannon AE-1 with 5 lenses and was hoping they would fit the Cannon rebel Digital Slr. They won't so I researched other cameras. The Olympus has a high frequency vibrator on the ccd to shake off any dust paticles only cmera I found with this feature. I use to have a habit of changing lenses inside my camera bag instead of out in the open. Probably get back to that habit with the digital.

You can't go too far wrong with a name like Olympus. The biggest thing to watch for I've heard is what the lens is made of. It [i[]should[/i] be glass, not any kind of plastic. Many camera manufacturers use sratch-resistant plastic to shave the weight/cost down. Plastic lenses just don't wear as well as glass.

2 to 3 years ago I researched everything on the market and ended up wih the Fuji S2-Pro. Got a smokin deal from an East coast camera store on eBay. Great camera! Now I am lusting after the S3-Pro.

I've been using a Nikon D70 for the past two years and haven't had any problms. Got it because I have a collection of lenses I used for my SLR. The price has come down since I bought mine so it's in the same range as the Olympus. You might also consider the D50 .. most of the same features but cheaper. You can't go wrong with Nikon. I bought a 1gig card and have never topped it out even using the largest format. The battery seems to last forever being as you don't use the screen line you do with the smaller digitals. Think I've recharged mine about four times in two years!!

Bought mine from J&R Music World in NYC. over the net. Have never had a problem.
