Cool Cut my hair

I had my hair cut off today and will be mailing it to Locks of Love once the PO is open. Three braids measuring 15" total I have been growing it (for like 3 years now I think) to donate, Time to start growing it again . I will have to take some in the morning of it now that it's all evened up and cut the rest of the way.

Carl, that's a really sweet thing you have done.I'm sure it will be very much appreciated. My dads girlfriend has lost all her hair due to chemo. You look nice with your new haircut. God Bless you. I have long hair, but don't have the courage to cut it to give it away. But i gave my dad's girlfriend a knit hat I made.

I use a knitting loom. No pictures right now, but i could take a picture tomorrow. I would die from over heating if I wore a hat in the house.

Carl,

That is a very kind, loving, and giving thing to do. Someone special is going to appreciate your beautiful gift.

Very sweet.

Hi Carl!

That is very cool. That is also one of the best things I have ever done. I did it about three years ago. I've always had long hair and I hadn't cut my hair for like twenty years so it was very hard to do but I knew I had to and I wanted to.

The only thing is the two men in my life weren't to happy about it. My hubby and my grandson. Hubby appreciated why I was doing it and supported me in it but he prefers me with long hair. He had never seen me in short hair. And my grandson was even worse but he was not quite 4 years old then. He wouldn't talk to me for two weeks and I'm not exaggerating. But it is because when he would set on grandma's lap and watch cartoons he would play with my hair, wrap his hands and arms in it. I think it was like a security blanket for him. lol

It is about time for me to do it again also. My grandson is older so I think he won't mind so much now.

It's funny you resemble my son with short hair when he was your age.

Your hair will be long again before you know it and it will be a benefit to even more people. Thanks for being such a giving person.

Wonderful gesture, Carl! We know several young kids who have been on the receiving end of the Locks of Love, and it was sooo appreciated! Our niece donated her long locks and we were proud! Proud of you too!

Talking Re: Cut my hair

Thank you for the nice words everyone, yeah it will grow back pretty fast but my hair is so curly for the next year maybe two I will have an afro. My older brother had his cut last summer, he had it doe at a salon I don't know why. My mom studied Desairology for quite a few years when I was little. Now I just need her to finish cutting it. She didn't get a picture of it but right after she cut the three braids off two in back on in front it looked like I had a George Washington wig on.
