| | Re: Copper Eagle That's nice piece of sculpture!! I hope you have it well secured cause around here thieves are hitting every place that has any copper fittings, lines or pipes. Older houses are a favorite as are any power station, live or not.
Well done,
Bob |

| | Re: Copper Eagle Nice job! My first thoughts echoed Bob's. The people who steal copper wouldn't hesitate to wrap a chain around it and rip it from the ground. They don't care about your beautiful work. |

| | Re: Copper Eagle Beautiful work! That is really an impressive piece of metal work. I agree, that it should be carefully watched though......copper prices have driven thieves to boldness unheard of before. They are actually stripping new construction of wires and plumbing, around here.

| | Re: Copper Eagle WOW! That is indeed special. And I agree with the security issues raised. You don't have any old claymores you could place? Excellent work. Tom H |

| | Re: Copper Eagle in denver there was a young man who's father had a wrecking yard, he pieced togather several large skulptures out of auto chrome bumpers and every time he finished one it was featured in the denver post, my sister would clip them and send them to me,
it inspired me to try, as i was a junkyard teen for several years, and put togather several piles of scraps...
but i found some copper water pipe and found by splitting it and flattening it you could get some rather large sheets out of 2-3" pipe. and fish scales or feathers could be made easily from this size of sheets, it sure beat the price of the sheets i found at lowes at $75.00 for 2x3feet...
or check with a local plummer or metal recycler and buy it for scrap prices
it may help you on the cost of your next project,
use the drop scraps for metal to weld with, some borax for flux and your only out the price of gas in case you want to scrap it later,
good job bob! |

| | Re: Copper Eagle Hay ' All
I did this one but no more ! Copper here is about 8.50 a pound an that's if your luckie . Just this one to see if it would be anything like wood . , it is much more forgiving but that's about all I seed . It still takes thinking ahead or yourself an look it the next step before you get there . O by the way they take copper here faster than I can buy it to LOCK UP every nite .
THANKS BOB
