| | A Clean Shop Hi folks, just had to tell someone about my clean shop. Every once in awhile I get to thinking about Bob Squarebriggs shop. Neat, clean, organized, just beautiful. Then I look at mine, mess, sawdust, tools laying around, just terrible. So yesterday I went to work, built a new bench. threw out enought STUFF, to fill our garbage bin, (wife growled about no room left) and then painted the floor , shelves, organized the tools , and now I don't want to go to work to mess it all up again. No one will see it clean, people only show up when its a mess. Thought it might be OK to brag about it here. Maybe monday before starting to work, I'll take a photo and post it just to brag some more. Grin. ![005[1]](http://www.woodcarvingillustrated.com/forum/images/smilies/005[1].gif)

| | Re: A Clean Shop You guys ask BobD about my workshop and I cleaned it up before he came and he thought it was a disaster area. I dont know about being neat. Once in a while my wife gets hold of me and makes me clean it up. Then for weeks I cant find a thing but when it is in a mess I know where everything is.

| | Re: A Clean Shop Naah no curtains, just kidding. I do like a clean shop though. When I do something, like building a bench or whatever, every tool that is in the shop gets used, and by the time the project is half done, the tools are on the floor, on the work bench, all over the place, and I spend most of my time looking for my glasses, or one of the tools. My favourite way of cleaning shop is to open the windows and turn on the dust collector, put the vaccuum on blow and blow it all out the window. Just make sure your truck isn't parked out side. |

| | Re: A Clean Shop It's just the opposite with me, guys. My husband is banned from my studio while I'm working.
Looks like trees got vaporized in there...I won't clean up until the carving is done. Drives him NUTS (he's "retentive" and I'm somewhat, um..."expulsive"). He was exiled after the last time he came out to check up on me, and picked up a broom and started sweeping...the nerve...lolol.... I mean, how can a grrrl carve if she's afraid to make a mess??? (Bless him)
So now we got a system....he calls me on my cell phone...from the house...30 feet away....hehehehe.
BUT...comes time to paint, the studio gets stupid-clean. I mop the walls AND the ceiling.
So make that mess, Hugh and enjoy every second of it!
