Default Classified Ads

I am trying to place an ad in the Classifieds section and have tried it twice now and it doesn't seem to be showing up. I am following the instructions but it's not working. I've placed ads before but for some reason I can't get it to work this time. Can anyone help?

Bob D. has to approve it first, he will probably do it tomorrow.

I've had the same problem and finally got Bob D's approval and got it on the cite for a day, but then it disappeared. It sure was a lot easier to just post them in the past, but apparently WCI felt a gatekeeper was needed to o.k. them before they are posted. Problem is there is such a delay to get them on cite (and I'm not blaming Bob), but maybe WCI "powers that be" would/could explain the reason for the changes.

We've had it set up so the free classifieds require my approval to appear. As soon as I receive notice that an ad is waiting for approval, I usually go in and approve it. Unfortunately, when you modify an ad, I don't receive a notice of that.

The gatekeeper is needed for a couple of reasons. The first is spam. I delete around 25 spam ads a week, and it's much easier to delete them before they are approved. Also, the classifieds are intended for members of the site to sell their extra items, etc. We don't want companies to jump on the site just to use the free classifieds to sell their products.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but as long as we offer the classifieds for free, they are going to be subject to my approval.

Best Regards,

Bob D. - I'm sure I speak for many of us who appreciate the work you and the other editors do to make this site what it is. I just want to mention that when I still didn't see my ad up the next day I thought perhaps I did something wrong so I repeated that process. The result is that now I have 2 of the same ads posted...sorry. Maybe if it's not too much trouble you can pull one of them off...there is no point in having 2 of them posted. Thanks.
