Default Checking in at last and other stuff

Hi everyone It's been a long time since I've posted so thought I'd drop in and try to get back into the loop. I haven't carved at all in quite some time. As most of you know my son was in a serious motorcyle accident in July, which took me back to California for awhile. He is home with his girlfriend now, who takes very good care of him. He is doing well physically. He has to walk with assistance and needs some one with him 24 hours because of the brain injury. He talks ( a lot ) but doesn't remember a lot of things. But he is improving daily.

I am speechless over the post on Whitecree! Very sad.

Well after everything that was unpleasent this summer, and about 15 years (wow!) since I've had a vacation for me, I am going to pack up my painting stuff, camera, hiking boots and fishing gear and head to Wallowa-Whitman National Forest in Oregon. I'll have a 2 room cabin complete with outhouse and hand-pump for water Propane lights and stove. that's it!!! I'll head up Sunday morning and stay until Wednesday. They warn that the only thing I have to watch for are mountain lions, bears and rattlesnakes. Hmmm. If I return alive I will let you all know how it was. I hope I can get back into the carving groove once I get back. Till then everyone stay healthy, happy and carving.

Have fun! No reason not to take along some carving gear...what a great place to carve sitting on that picnic table! And make some noise moving around, the animals don't want to get any closer to you than you do them, including snakes!...and don't run from bears or mountail lions! There lesson is over...enjoy

Hi Nancy, great to hear from you again, and most glad your back! Sorry to hear of your son's accident, but sounds like he's coming back. Hey that cabin sounds like such a great place to get some R&R and recharge those artistic batteries.
