Default Chainsaws

Years ago, I worked in a saw shop; we sold chainsaws, axes, and other items for lumbermen.

One day this gentleman came into the store asking for a saw that will cut five cords of wood per day. I introduced him to the MS650 Stihl Magnum with a 5.6 cubic inch, 7 hp engine and a 25 inch bar. I told him it should cut ten cords a day like it was nothing.

The next day the same gentleman walks into the store carrying the Stihl I sold him.
He was a little upset; he said; “I didn’t even finish a half-a-cord, and I worked my tail off.”

I figured the blade was dull and quickly replaced it for him; I guaranteed him it would easily cut five cords a day.

Next day he came back looking pretty hot and tired; he said; “I worked hard at it since daybreak and all I could get was half a cord”

I couldn’t believe it, so I took the saw out back to our tryout log.
I gave the rope a yank and the engine roared to life as I cut through the log like butter.
All the while the gentleman was covering his ears and yelling “What’s that noise? What’s that noise?”

Hehehe, good one, Rick! I've got about a dozen other "loggers' tales", but most can't be told in mixed compamy, or on public forums.
