| | What is that Carving worth? How do you figure the amount that will be asked for a carving?
Do you charge by the hour, experience, being a professional, not so much if you are an amateur, I would like to know what type of formula is applied to figure what to ask for a carving?

| | Re: What is that Carving worth? Bill, You will find several different formulas or priceing methods.
I sale at a shop as well as commision work. I set an Hourly figure and the commission work Plus cost. On the selling at the shop, I an priced foir sells. In this area, carvings do not go for what they do in other areas. I know I am selling to cheap but then I am selling. Wahat is a carving worth? whatever the buyer is willing to pay. It depends also on the area you live in. I know some on this board gets in the Hundreds if not Thousands of dollars for their carving. But if they were here in SEK, they wouldn't get that much. So, you have to figure what you think your carvings are worth and then adjust accordingly. BTW, where I sale in a shop is 150 miles away and they get higher prices for their cavings that what people are willing to pay here where I live.
Meaning if the local area does not support higher priced carvings, then adjust the price to where they sell.
Hope this has helped. |
