Talking Carving a Finger

Hey guys!! I think this is proof that even pro carvers make mistakes. Last friday I was attaching a " round Excaliber chainsaw blade onto my grinder and while tightening the nut my wrench slipped off and my hand slid across the blade. Well, seven stitches and two days later while actually using blade and grinder, my thumb hit the blade. Now, I discovered that you really have to have a good frame of mind to shut off the grinder, yell bad words, all at the same time while trying to take off the leather glove and going to urgent care for more stitches(5 more). Not to mention the embarrassement of seeing the same Doctor twice in one weekend. Now, I haven't had anything like this happen to me in the twenty eight years that I've been carving. I figured that things like this come in three's so I got rid of the Excaliber before I ended up cutting off something that I might need later. So, how was your weekend?

I hope you recover well from your misadventures, though the telling was hilarious and I had to giggle at the image.

Falconer.... As my favorite saying goes, some days you're the dog and others you're the hydrant! Hope you heal up soon!

Hey Falconer, I hope you heal quickly, I live in both Klamath Falls ,Oregon and So California, I was thinking of maybe attending one of your carving
classes but I already know how to expertly carve my fingers. All pun intended get well soon and as Spring Clouds form I will be seeing you in one of your weekly classes. Maybe between and other finger carvers and I, should start a new web on whom carves the best fingers.

Thank you for all your insperation and carving expertise.

Hey torpidhummer, I look forward to seeing you for a finger carving session. By the way, in the off season I live in Wildomar just north of Temecula not to far from Chula Vista. If your ever up this way stop in and have a cupajoe. Also, my seminars are filling up so if you plan on getting in on one you should probably do it soon. Just a word of advise.

I will take you up on on your invite for a cup of jo, when ever you send me you telephone# or address and we can get together for for coffee (after the holidays). My wife and I will be flying to Rhode Island. My daughter is expecting her second baby (after ten years), she & my son-law live on the Marine Corp base on an island off Road Island. I want see what kind of duty Marines have there and wonder why I didn't get any soft duty while I was a Jarhed. Of course after two tours in Iraq, I guess her deserves it.

I will try to catch one of your classes as soon as I figuer out the outcome of my where abouts.
Have a Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Ouch! Falconer....... step away from the tool and leave it alone! It's hex'ed! You don't want to take any more chances. Yes, things do happen in threes, and you don't want number three to happen with that kind of a tool!

I hope things heal up nice and clean and quickly, but it sounds like you may need a rest, so take the time and rest up.

Bob
