| | Carving buddies...dogs, etc. I've seen some other posts about "carvin' buddies", like Ron's dog, and others.
Mine is a little different, but she's very serious about her carving.
She's a 6 year old Blue and Gold Macaw, and she can go through some wood.

| | Re: Carving buddies...dogs, etc. And unlike dogs, who can only answer your questions about bark, the macaw can probably wing it on just about any subject!

| | Re: Carving buddies...dogs, etc. Chemukh is not just my friend, but actually who pays my bills. Unfortunately she doesn't live with me anymore, but I work with her two or three times at week.
This is the carving I did in honour of her. |

| | Re: Carving buddies...dogs, etc. Now that winter is here and it's cold, my carvings buddies are mice. Yesterday, I caught some movement out of the corner of my eye, and saw one of the carved computer mice moving. On second look it was a real mouse sittin beside the carved one. My camera was sittin right there in front of me but my movement to pick it up scared the mouse away. I have spent too much time today with a piece of cheese by the carved mouse and the camera in my hand...My carving buddy has not been back. Tom H |

| | Re: Carving buddies...dogs, etc. Any time I head to the shop to carve, Kira comes too. She doesn't like it when I'm using the bandsaw, and heads up the stairs. Maybe I can get her some earplugs? She doesn't like to chew woodchips, but if I turn my back, she'll drain my tea!

| | Re: Carving buddies...dogs, etc. Hi Thor, this is my pal K.T. our Jack Russell Terrier looking for lizards when she should be keeping me company while I'm carving. All of last years lizards are running around without tails and that is if they are lucky enough to escape this killer.

| | Re: Carving buddies...dogs, etc. Oh what a beautiful bird! Does she talk much? I've always been facinated by Macaws.
I'm a bit sad tonight. The lil gal I was talking about in another post stealing my pattern got hurt rather bad today. She ran into a three inch nail and tore her side up in two large holes. A rush to the vet at 11 below was quite nerve wrecking. She will be ok, lungs were not punctured, but with 12 stitches and some very sore muscles, rib cage and front leg she will pull through. I'll be staying up with her all night tonight. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
