| | Re: canadian goose decoys Mfizzywig Sense this is off topic... I don't have any canadian geese decoys, but I have eight large Canadian geese that have been growing here sense three days before Easter.. A pair came out of the woods with six babies and now they are all grown and won't fly away.. I am having a time feeding all these geese that hog up all the food from the ducks and little coot! It is open season for them in Ga.now... Oh, I hate to see them killed.. but what in the world do I do with eight big geese and they are constantly erroding the bank on the pond.. ! |

| | Re: canadian goose decoys Jamesfa....For about five years we had pairs that came out of the wood in early Spring and then they quit coming.. but they would grow up and they would take off a night and we wouldn't see them again until a pair in the Spring... but these are not like that .. They will fly over the pond but not in the air.. I know the parents fllew in as we saw them .. I guess they are not all alike.. I leave corn out for the critters around here so I guess the dove, little coot etc.. will just have to starve and the little coot can't fly.. Boy, do I have a delima! |

| | Re: canadian goose decoys OOOOOH, I almost hate to do this here, but it's one of my pet peeves and probably doesn't amount to a hill of beans anyway, BUT........them AIN"T Canadian Geese, they are CANADA Geese. Although a Canada Goose may be a Canadian Canada Goose if it comes down from Canada, so are any geese of any type that fly, waddle, swim or drive in from Canada.
There, I said it and I apologize ahead of time.

| | Re: canadian goose decoys O.k. Guy's .. I respect your reply.. but we use to raise ornamental water fowl .. lots of different kinds. There are several different kinds of canada geese! There is even a small varity .. real cute.. These geese that LOOK like the canada goose probably have never seen your territory.. They are on golf courses all over the United States and haven't a clue how to migrate back to Canada.. thus the reason for open season in Ga.. !! |

| | Re: canadian goose decoys Charlotte,
The geese here in New Jersey are out of hand. They only stay as long as there is water--once it's frozen, their gone to warmer places--like Georgia. The geese love the nice lush, green lawns, and of course, kind souls who give them corn.
There is a trick that the owners of these nice lawns have resorted to--silhouettes of dogs like Golden retrievers or Labradors. I think they cut them out of plywood, and then they're painted flat black. The really good ones swivel with the wind like a weather vane. Don't know whether this'll help, but errrr--there's always an invitation for the Geese to come for Christmas dinner! |

My son has been threating to try one... ! | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
