Default Can you top this

The wife and I were watching TV last nite and at 10:00PM the phone rang. Well let me tell you I was shocked out of my chair, a voice with quite an accent said "is that tucker1931?" I of course said yes knowing that it was someone from the forum. Well it certainly was, it was Blinky Bill (John) all the way from Australia to me here in Canada just to say hello, wish me and the wife well and then we chatted for almost an hour. You see, he's in a remote area as am I and we really have no personal connection to any other carvers so he looked me up and away we went. What a delight it was. I just had to share this momment with you all.

Sounds like great fun you guys. I have not been to many shows or carving functions, but the skin contact, eye to eye or phone contact setting things up has been worth all the effort.
As far as accent goes - let's see, Canadian or Aussie, not sure how anyone could win that one.

John K Karver - from da land of da Bears. No accent here boys and girls.
