Default But they are so shiny...

Another rat story...

My wife got some curtain rods for windows that have vertical blinds and they needed so much clearance that the brackets that came with them wouldn't work. So she went the store and found some "magic swag" brackets that have enough clearance. The magic swag hardware is U shaped brass pieces with curls at each end. I was able to take apart both sets of hardware and make extended curtain holders, leaving me with the U pieces and the too short half of the original brackets. I tried, really I did, to toss them. They are in a bag on the shelf in the garage. I have no clue what I would ever do with them (but that little voice says a use will come up a week after I toss them).

Oh Andy -- that's SAD.
My husband has 6 (six) lawn mower wheels he "might need someday" (he uses a big John Deere riding machine - not the type these wheels go with).
When we were stationed at Grand Forks AFB sometime maybe 15 - 16 years ago a friend of his was leaving and gave them to him. When he retired he couldn't part with them .... He might need them someday.
So we still have them stacked up with the other stuff he might need some day.

We still have most of the shirts he bought in college. Some day I'll tell you about the blankets he used on his dorm bed.

Yeah, I got a garage full of them kinda things too. Breaks my heart when my wife decides SHE'S GONNA CLEAN THE GARAGE. Then I can't find anything, I know I've got one of, until I go buy another one. Then I find the darn thing, two days later and too late to take the new one back.

I have collected a few tires and casters over the years and used almost all of them. The most rediculous thing I have is plastic moly bolts. I always use the "EZ Ancor" type in drywall in place of those. I bought a big box of those an I use them; they never fail and those plastic moly bolts often do. So what do I do when I get something that comes with them? Use the EZ Ancors instead and toss the plastic junk into a box.
