| | A blissful 6 days Well, my week of doing nothing but carve is nearly at an end.... My husband went out of state with his brothers. They left early on Sunday and will be back home tomorrow late. I asked for the week off from the office and got it. Soooo, starting Sunday I have done almost nothing but carve all this week .....no interuptions of any kind. Heaven..... But I miss hubby and all good things must come to an end. The boys will be home sometime tomorrow so I will make the most of tomorrow morning and afternoon. I have been able to get very close to finishing the carving I was working on and hopefully it will be ready to paint this weekend..
Then Monday, it's back to the office and the old grind stone again.....

I certainly will...right in the middle of that busy law office! I will close my eyes and begin chanting. Can't wait for the reaction that will get. Seriously, I do keep a little personal CD player at my desk and when things get tense I put on my Gregorian chant CD or the celtic musci by Enya or Clannad....
The other secretary has a small radio on her desk (right next to me) and although we like each other and get along well, her taste in music is awful. Head banger stuff.... at least it's not rap. I have learned to tune it out but now and then I retreat to my headphones.
namaste.....

| | Re: A blissful 6 days I'm glad to hear someone's carving - with this humidity, I just can't get motivated! Instead, I've been in a "donate it or toss it out - just get it all out of my house" mode! I've learned to not fight it and just go with how I'm feeling at the time and it usually works out for the best.
Enjoy it while you can!!!

| | Re: A blissful 6 days Time's up!
Hubby got home this afternoon just before 6. Right before he arrived, the neighbor boy (who is also our nephew) brought over a couple of fresh mullet he had caught in his cast net today.... So I was cleaning fish for supper when Mike got home.
I did finish carving the Santa on the pig today. I will take some pics and post them in the WIP section tomorrow. It looks like I will be painting carvings this weekend.
Jillsy, for heaven's sake, you mean you don't have airconditioning in your work area???? I would just die! It has been so hot and miserable here and probably where you are too. I couldn't work out in my shop without that little window unit rattling away.....can't hear myself think but it's cool.
Sorry to hear you aren't carving so you can do housework, Joy...that IS a MAJOR BUMMER. Still, you will have a lovely party I am sure.
Right now we are keeping a leary eye on hurricane Dean.....so far it looks as though it won't be a problem for us, but it's still days away from getting into the Gulf and lots could happen between now and then.
