| | Blinky Bill CHEATS!!!! Yes it's true....I have a helper to work on my carvings......His name is Percy, and he only moved in with us a couple of weeks ago, ut has made himself right at home and works on my carvings without so much as a "by your leave".......Still, maybe I will be able to sell his work for big $$'s After all, if people will shell out for paintings? by elephants, cats, and chimpanzees', why not a wood sculpture by a budgerigar huh huh ?

| | Re: Blinky Bill CHEATS!!!! John, I got me a helper too; sometimes. When I carve outside, it's on a swing. In tree next to the swing are a few small bird houses. Little wrens are always nesting in the houses. These little fellows are very noisy. They'll sit and watch me carve. One time when I sat the carving down and went in the shop I looked out and a wren had flew over to the carving, and was inspecting it. When I returned to the carving later the wren had left a few globs of "white stuff" on it. After some laughing and some inspection of the carving, I agreed and pitched it...Tom H |

| | Re: Blinky Bill CHEATS!!!! Great idea! I am caring for 8 orphan bunnies. Maybe I can get them to gnaw something for me to sell. We might even get a teeth and beak category at the carving shows???? |

| | Re: Blinky Bill CHEATS!!!! Yeah, my cats are pretty lazy too. They'll supervise all day long, one of'em will go as far as climbing up in my lap and placing her paw where she thinks I should cut next, but...
At least BlinkyBill's critter tries to help, not just make snide comments. |

| | Re: Blinky Bill CHEATS!!!! My wife's bunny Willow is always jumping up in my lap when I'm carving (see, I'm studiously avoiding saying my bunny...can't let that ruin my tough-guy reputation). She's made a few good cuts on the ball in cage I'm working on. I sit on the floor and socialize with her while I carve...there are times I've very happy to have my carving glove on...her teeth are nearly as sharp as my carving knives!!! Trust me...I made the mistake of sitting down on the floor with my shirt off and carve...she hopped up into my lap...and climbed up on her back paws to sniff and groom me...and all of a sudden I got a sharp pain in my chest...I'll leave the rest to your imagination!!!!
