| | Re: "Birds eye view" Tony, all sorts of posts here keep jogging my memory.
Before I retired I was flying fire patrol just south of the Porcupine Mountains at around 3,000 feet, when a huge bald eagle soared across in front of me. He banked to the left and went into a spiraling dive. I remember thinking to myself, or maybe I even said it out loud, "I can do that!". I chopped the power and threw the little 172 into a tight decending turn. Somehow the eagle seemed to sense the game and climbed, turned and swooped around me, and for about a thousand foot decent, we played sky tag! And then he was gone. Never had that happen again, but what a rush!

| | Re: "Birds eye view" I thought you would like that one falconer. I especially like the view behind the head and man what a reference for feather detail too.

| | Re: "Birds eye view" All of it was great!!! But what's even better is that's the perfect reference for carving a flying Eagle. It shows exactly what the wings look like while flying. Thanks again, I've save that little bit of reference cause I have a eagle commission coming up that's flying. Theres nothing like the real thing!! www.sierracreekstudios.com |
