Your all wonderful! Thank you so much. Thanx Kenny! My husband just called and asked if I was still moping around the house or if I was going to go for a walk. Lol...gotta love him. We're walking together when he gets home. Then I'm couch bound with an ice pack. i rented us a ton of movies and I can't wait to stare through them!

Any better today Kemona. I'll say a prayer that it is. Sorry to hear of the troubles - trying to think of some cute thing to say that will brighten the day - like the tough wood is the piece that makes the most beautiful carving, or the stressed wood produces the best carving. Something like that.

My comfort is in Lamentations 3:22, 23.

Blessings

How about "knotty" wood has the most fun?

Keoma, good to hear you are operating on cylinders, missed your humor, stressed, hard and knotty wood are just like all our brides they just need a lot of love and tender words. Yes! I am prepared for all the flak I'll get.

Keoma: I won't get into all the ailments I have had over the years.
But I Have had and do have my share of physical challenges. Oddly enough the last Congestive Heart Failue last July was the one that brought me back to woodcarving after a 20 yr absence. I have the vision now to create more than piles of shavings?
I believe every person has a natural drive to create or produce that must be catered to, to have peace in their life.
Instead of dwelling on the challenges we face , We have to work on ways to overcome those challenges and work with what we have.
You obviously have a creative spirit, So put that into finding ways to do what you obviously must. Often those challenges while they may change the way we do things, give birth to unimaginable new adventures.
I've only been on this board for about a month, and you have already been an inspiration to me. Don't ever underestimate your abilities.
Hang in there, We all expect great things from you.

Keoma I too feel very sorry about your problems but as the others all said it could be so much worse. I have had back problems for 30 years and have gone through surgery etc. My best choice of help was Accupuncture by a "real Doctor of Chinese Medicine" not somebody who takes a course for 3 month ,this is very important, I also go weekly to a Painclinic and have analgesics put into the spot where it hurts most as well every 3 month cortisone shots and I am still carving. I am going into smaller wood now but is still in the 1-2' range, chainsaw maybe no more, I shall see what Spring will bring. So please do not give up ,you will miss being creative and your life will be dull. I will keep my fingers crossed for you LOL

Keoma, to hell with it, just keep on rippin, that's what I do and shall continue till my last breath (and that might be sooner than I want) I've had 2 heart attacks, 8 inches od new aorta installed, 5 hernias repaired with some kind of window screen, I now have incurable prostate cancer (have a treatment every 90 days, Hormones, oh the hot flashes), just had a total hip replacement. Was at cancer clinic the other day, looks like maybe a spread, I've lost 35 pounds in 5 months and haven't had sex in 20 years. But you know what "I'm 77 years of age and I've got a block of wood in one hand and a knife in the other, and that's the way I wanna be burried" And my theory sas mentioned at the start of this post, "to hell with it" do it till ya drop.
Cliff
good luck girl, you see yer not the only one with problems as well stated on these posts, grin and bare it.

I am not only honored to know you all, I am completely humbled. My problems are just that, mine. Everyone has there own bag of hammers to carry around, right? My dad used to tell me and my brother we were dummer than a bag of hammers...oh well
Tucker-we share the same thought! I am a do-er. I am not a stopper and a pauser or a wait a minute and heal-er. I have things to do !
Of course,as soon as I was layed up and not doing anything, orders started coming in. I am very glad for it! It has gotten me off my duff and I am moving about. I can't seem to not frown, but I will bare with it.
After my 4 th trip, the Doc said I have a long way to go, but she is swearing she can help me. I am staying positive!
A shop on the coast is interested in my dolls, so that gives me some new focus. Thanx again! You mean the world to me!
