Re: Barns? Interesting read Gergie! Back in the late 50's I painted a tobacco barn red for an old woman in Simsbury, Connecticut . It was an oil based paint and might even have had some preservative in it like lead or copper sulfate. It was the stinkiest, nastiest paint that I've ever used and before I finished I could have applied for my tribal card because there wasn't an inch of me or my clothes that weren't covered. It took six weeks and I made a profit of $20.00. I figure I was working for about $0.33 an hour, probably less. Can't say that I've ever had a desire to do it again!
