Default Back To My White Cane

I thought I would let you all know that beginning tomorrow I will be back to using my white cane. Lou developed what they call a skin tag on the upper part of his front leg. The vet told me to watch it for awhile to see if it changed any. About two days later it grew in size and broke open. It is in the upper part between the leg and chest and it must have began to rub. Anyway tomorrow he goes under the knife to get it removed. He said he don't know how long he will be unable to walk and perform his job it depends on how deep he has to go to get it all. Then he will send it in to see if it is cancerous or not. That's all I needed is more vet bills. I don't know if you remember my Boston terrier has been through the ringer we gave her a transfusion three weeks ago and so far she is doing ok but she is on steriods and eats like a horse. So far I have spent 2500.00 on her alone. But I think Lou will be alright It's funny how used to him I have gotten feel out of place without him but maybe it won't be long. It's amazing how much we spend on our pets I know it is different with Lou though.

Ron, I know you will be worrying about Lou tomorrow, but He'll do great. It doesn't sound canerous to me (I'm almost a Vet wink). My dog Sammie went under the knife today! Have to go pick him up in a few minutes. He was neutered. A Toy Fox Terrier. Tomorrow I go under the knife, so maybe Lou and I will connect in our drug induced sleep. They are going to chisel out the roof of my mouth. Now the real weight loss program begins! Yesterday I drove 80 miles to go buy a particular hen for my lonely rooster. Ah yes, the things we do for our pets. BUT they are worth it for sure. Hang in there, Lou will be on his feet in no time.

Yep....we love those animals. My wife and I have been nursing a horse who foundered during the big ice storm back in January. Xrays, injections, hoof trimming, more xrays, injections and yesterday we took her to a new specialist who, we're hoping, has put her on the right track to recovery.

We can only imagine how much you depend on your partner but we know how close you are to him and we hope all goes well and he's back dozing under your carving table real soon.

Thoughts, prayers and best wishes to you! Our black lab is pushing 15 and although she does pretty well fo the shape shes in we know that her time with us is limited. It's not easy. They're not pets, they're family! We know how you must feel. Good luck!

Ron, so sorry to hear of your buddys' problems, as everyone else has already said, "they're not pets, they're family" not only that, but they are family that give so much, and ask so little in return......Lous' problem sounds like an abscess, and probably won't take long in healing..but in any case, prayers are on their way from Australia
Kindest Regards
John

Lou's surgery went well. He is now resting at my feet a little out of it because of the pain pills but doing good. He is on light duty for 7- 10 days just short walks. I won't know the test results for about a week. They took an area about 3" diameter and had to go fairly deep to get it all. I think he will be fine.
