Thanks for the pictures and the story that went with it! Brought back many nice memories of when we lived in Southwest Virginia, close to the Blue Ridge Parkway many years ago. The colors were fantastic and the way of life was just as you described it in Arkansas. I really miss those days. Thanks again!

Paul, like everyone else I can feel the peace. As a child (8-12 years old) I lived about a half mile from the Norfork Dam at a place also called Sleepy Hollow. I remember the Ozarks and the good people that lived near us. You are truly blessed, and so are we for knowing you.

It's really pretty back there.
We're green all year and the trees on the coast that loose there leaves are mainly yellow and light brown. Still beautiful though.
The last picture reminds me of a crocheted throw or quilt.

No doubt about it Autumn is a beautiful time of year in the Blue Ridge as well. The colors are radiant and in every shade reds, browns and yellows. There is a Cherokee myth that many of the trees along with some of the animals failed a task issued by the Creator. As punishment those trees lose their hair in Autumn, and the animals were deprived of the ability to see in the darkness. The Evergreens keep their hair in winter and the owls, wolves, and some others of the animal tribe were given the ability to see in the darkness because they kept their obligation to the Creator. This was one of my favorites of the stories my grandfather told us when we were young.
Thanks for the photos, Paul!
