Kenny, Thanks for the photos. It's remains amazing to me that more lives weren't lost. I know that there was a warning and people heeded the warning, but still.......I know that some prayers must have been answered.

I would rather not of posted them but, thought That people should view them. Been through a few of them in my life time. When I was a kid around 15 years of age, we had one hit where my Dad had his oil wells and a 100 barrel tank was lifted and skimmed the ground like a bulldoser had bladed a road. It wasn't a few feet but 100s. Dad's power house was studded with 2 x 6s and there was nothing but the walkasua engine left and the 2 x 6s were driven in to the ground so deep, we could not pull them out with a winch truck. The walls of the house heaved and holed to the pount that we could not get out the doord and lucky for us we didn't. Twenty foot 2 inch pipes were all over and stuck in the ground. After that, Dad had a fraidy hole built and we sept a many od nights in it waiting out stroms.
I have seen this type of damage before and it still amazes me the power or a tornado.

I don't know if you all have heard that another victim has been added. He was a 42 year old Macksville police officer that was out trying to warn people. His car was thrown 300 yards off the road and they had to use the jaws of life to rescue him. He passed away this morning from his injuries. Such a tragic loss to such a brave man. My thoughts and prayers to his family.

Thank's Kenny for showing this.. You can see it on television but this shows the destruction that is so vast. How many lifes were in the final count?
You were very fortunate to live through the one when you were fifteen. Charlotte

The count for Greensburg stands at 10. There was one in the next county east (Pratt) and one the next night in Bennington in Ottawa County. I think this is the last I heard and they say there are no more missing. As I write this Pres Bush is touring the city.

Incredible! I like other's have seen the devastation on TV and my heart goes out to all those folks who have lost so much. As a small child I lived in Texas and remember my mom talking about tornado's and how frighten she was of them. You were one of the folks I thought of when I heard there had been a tornado in Kansas (left you a note in one of the threads sorry don't remember which one duh). Glad you are OK!
Best,
Kathy
