| | Aother Crazy new idea Well gang. As you probably all know (or most of you do) I've only been carving for 8 months and I'm just finishing my best piece to date. The thing is, I can't believe I've done it, when I look at my very first carving (that I was so proud of) just how far I've come along in a short period of time. I really would like to see some of our excellent carvers FIRST PIECES that you have carved. I think it would be a fun little series for all to see.

| | Re: Aother Crazy new idea Hey Cliff,
great idea. I'll have to go digging and snap a picture.
Shawn, very nice first.
Kathy, it's a nice first and it's better looking back at how far you've come. |

| | Re: Aother Crazy new idea I love this kind of post. My carving resume is short... I just started in Feb of this year and I did Gene's boot project as my first one and it's my avatar. I should carve another one to see if I can better it.

| | Re: Aother Crazy new idea Here's my first carving. A Melaleuca stick I got in Florida. The wood is hard but the sticks are great. They're strong, straight, and finish real nice.
My second carving is my first Indian cane on a piece of found wood on an oak shaft. The handle is stained w/ cherry minwax. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
