| | Anyone going to the National Congress Show? I shipped two pieces. Unfortunately the best one, the Elk, was broken during shipping so won't be entered. Dang, guess that guy just wasn't meant to be a show piece. The other was the Red River hog, don't expect much from that, not as complex?? as the elk.

| | Re: Anyone going to the National Congress Show? I mailed in my covered bridge relief. It must have made it alright as I've not heard anything.
That's too bad about the elk Nancy. Best of luck on the Hog.

| | Re: Anyone going to the National Congress Show? That's okay. It's easy to do.
This is still open for discussion - especially since you discussed what you sent.
I "forgot" about the show and didn't get anything ready to go - wished someone would have reminded me a bit earlier. |

| | Re: Anyone going to the National Congress Show? Sorry to hear about your elk. What was damaged? I had planned to send some pieces, but there was a problem with the return trip. I had several pieces at the show last year. I had the fox squirrel and the stylized howling wolf as well as a few others. Have you entered before? This is my first time to post anything. Good luck with the hog. |

| | Re: Anyone going to the National Congress Show? Sending carvings in the mail is nerve wracking! I have it from the post office, that you need to double box anything that is fragile...box it with good packing etc , then put that in another box with good packing and so forth, then spend 4 hours in prayer LOL ...I send one of a preacher and a donkey and they somehow managed to shear them both off at the feet? They didn't even dent the box doing it? Must have had that box going 400 miles an hour and a sudden stop |

| | Re: Anyone going to the National Congress Show? Thats the secret Dave. Two boxes with the carving anchored securly to the inside box then surrounded by a two inch space all round filled with styrofoam peanuts. I did a thread on how to do this last year. In all the carvings Ive shipped over the years, and I've shipped a ton of them, I have never had one break. |
