Default Another Hobby To Share

Hi everyone - I just got into making soap and I wanted to share a picture of my second batch. I'm calling it Malaspina Treasure because the water I used is sea water from Malaspina Strait and the shells were all collected on the shores here. This is fun and when I get good enough I want to get into selling it.

Thanks for looking.....Red Face

Lindy, Really cool idea but doesn't it get a little rough rubbing those clam shell against your skin while your're trying to lather up? LOL Seriously, I know of several people in this area who started soap making as a hobby and turned it into a very lucrative business. Good Luck!

Actually the shells are really good for exfoliation and scraping off the dirt when you've out playing in the mud.Mobster

Beautiful! I am guessing you pop the soapies out? lol...Beautiful! I would love to put some in my bathroom!
I make soaps too, its a great hobby! Its funny cause when I am working...have soap all over my hands, I go to wash them ...and i add dishsoap! (I'm in the kitche o' course) Oy-I snort everytime.
I get soap supplies from the Berry Basket. They are in Oregon-so super cheap and loads of fun! You can even buy your lye there. You do have to sign a darn paper saying you promise not to cook drugs with it.
Best of luck to you! Have fun-looks like you already are! Wonderful!

Hi Keoma, thank you for such kind words!

These soaps are meant to be used in the shell with either a scrubbie or by holding the soap and shell in one hand while lightly brushing your dainty fingers across the soap with the other. Of course if someone wanted to pop the soap out of the shell they could and then the shell could function as the soap dish for the soap that came out of it.

I really am enjoying making different soaps - my next one is either going to be Milk & Honey or Mocha Coffee. I also bought some cupcake holders to make Birthday Soaps with a candle in them. As I get more done I'll post them. I just finished up a Rosemary Mint soap for a friend. It setting up right now.
