Default Amish Benefit Thread

Post here any thing you have to do with the Amish Benefit Project.

Ashbys and Don by the Lake have suggested that everyone who is interested in auctioning something off to benefit the families of the children killed recently should post here. They suggested that those of you who are familiar with selling things on e-Bay can set up your own auction and send the funds here to be collected and passed on to the Mennonite Central Committee.

Here's another one that relates specifically to the cause:
http://www.mds.mennonite.net/Home?&b...et&_single=CB6

Post a link to your e-Bay auction here when you get it set up.

The link above contains all the contact information for the Mennonite Central Committee, so you can feel free to send the money directly to them. If you are not comfortable with that, feel free to send it to us here, and we'll send it on to them.

If you have any questions, let one of us know!

Bob

As soon as I get a chance I will be putting my favorite Wizard walking stick up for bid on Ebay. It is valued at $125.

I have had a drawing sitting in a drawer for 25 years that I have wanted to carve, it is three girlls walking accross a bamboo bridge carrying their books too school. Now seems the time to carve it. I will get started tonight.....

Hey guys,
Just found some eye punches in my shop that I have had for a few years and don't use, I will be including them as well as a few carving books I don't need in the auction These eye punches were sold by Woodcraft and I have 9 different ones. I think they were bought for about $40. Stay tuned to this thread. As soon as I get my stuff organized I will post the links to Ebay.

Well, here is what I have got so far... Good first day's work. It is a carving of three girls walking across a foot bridge to school. The foot bridge is a bunch of logs tied together and they span a ravine with rocks and water (creek). It is a relief carving. I will be adding a pc of wood to the back of it to give more debth to the river and to help the girls stand out more.

The pc. is 3 feet long and 1 foot high.

Hope to finish the carving tomorrow and stain in 2-3 days.

Update picture as promised..... MUch, MUCH more carving than I originally thought. Comming together nicely though. The middle girl had to be attached with dowells and glue to keep it from being too fragile. Hope you like it so far.
