| | I am back but with sad news Hi gang,
Hope everyone had a great holiday I know having all my children and grandchildren home for the holidays I was truly blessed. Although we did recieve some disturbing news Christmas morning. My daugher who has been corresponding on line with a soldier in Iraq with a soldier she only knew as MJ. She recieved a phone call from MJ's best friend that he had been killed in Bagdad on the 23rd of December. She had wondered why she had not heard from him. I can only think of how sad his family must have felt this Christmas how empty we all felt can you imagine their distress. I share this only because we live here in our safe and protected life and a young man as many young men give their lives for their country. MJ was only 23 years of age what a waste of a young life. I ask that you all say a prayer for him and his family he was a brave young man who laid down his life for his country. I am sure we will all go on and we will all heal. I know he has touched my life and our family and his passing will always be with us. Lets your prayers be with all those young men and women in harms way.

| | Re: I am back but with sad news As painful as a personal loss may be, we must experience it to truely understand the cost of war. These are our children not simply numbers on the evening news.
Regardless of our position on war, it is a tragedy.

| | Re: I am back but with sad news Colin, the carving community is a very close and loving family just like the military and I'm sure prayers will go out from all to all.
