I bet you could sell it on ETSY.
Just put it in a shadow box so someone could hang it on the wall. And put a big price on it. Put it in the everything else category under weird section.
If you opened it up so the "guts" show you could sell it under steampunk.
Then you could get a ratty old doll with it's limbs missing and somehow work it into the whole scene, well, we are talking BIG BUCKS then!!!!!! Paint some blood drooling from the dolls mouth and you might get it featured in a treasury!
Or you could part it out in the supplies section. The possibilities are ENDLESS!!!!

Hugh, don't sell it! You may not even have to retire it. Just bring it to someone who specializes in repairing electronics. It could just be a loose wire, or a faulty switch. Even if it needed something more major done and would cost say $30 do it. It has served you faithfully, and loyalty deserves reward. Who knows....for 5 bucks it may keep helping you for the next 25 years.

Carve a body for it, it looks like a possible duck head...a blower head duck? LOL (They are rarely seen because of the natural camouflage).

Hugh if you get to keep it your wife was more understanding than mine. I get accused all the time because I have so much stuff I wont throw out for sentimental reason's. If it was at my house I would frame it and hang it on the wall LOL.

Hugh,
That's an interesting piece of "art" you are trying to part with. I have never seen a hair dryer so loved and decorated. I am just in wonder that you had any paint left on a carving! Actually, I'm trying to visualize a bird with all those colors on it!!!

Thanks for sharing the picture--there's no way you could have described it for us that would come close to reality. Paint on!
