Default Ah, Grasshopper!

Reading this weekend brought me around to a few old wits and wisdoms that really make me think and make me grin ... Anyone else out there collect Wits and Wisdoms?

Ah, Grasshopper! The question is often harder to ask than the answer is to give!

Ah, Grasshopper! One man's answer creates another man's question.

Ah, Grasshopper! The wise man knows he can not hope to enlighten a room by snuffing out the candle!

Susan

(PS ... Yellow snow doesn't count!)

From a plaque on Grandma Daisy's wall:

"Be careful of the words you say,
Keep them soft and sweet.
You never know from day to day
Which ones you'll have to eat."

I try to live by it, it really does make a difference!

Good one Wade, wish I'd heard it long ago. I've had to eat plates full. Maybe my bit of wisdom would be............
"Young man with schmarty pants will grow uncomfortable in same pants after years of eating crow". Or something like that, all I know is my pants don't fit like when I was young and I need some excuse.
Have fun.
Jim

Those who don't say anything at first , will be the ones who complains the loudest later!

OR

Don't let your magpie mouth overload your Humming bird brain! I have seen some where you could put Flea brain in place of Humming bird Brain!

Good topic Susan

Kenny!

You Wit and Wisdom reminded me of my Mom's favorite. She always said it in Spanish, the only spanish phrase she knew.

"In a closed mouth no flies enter."

Haven't thought of that one in years.

Susan

"A person who speaks little, is called a fool,
A person who speaks much, merely confirms it!"

Or how about....

"You have two ears and one mouth, for good reason!
You're suppose to listen twice as much as you speak".

Bob

If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert , in five years there'd be a shortage of sand.
