| | Re: 47th anniversary Congrats on your 47 years. What that really means is that the wives put up with us. You are 100 percent correct about the peace and quiet or being right. I too have chosen the peace and quiet. We arent as dumb as "they" think, now are we?

| | Re: 47th anniversary Jim, it is always wonderful to hear of good, long-term marriages. I used to think that it was simply working at it that made it happen. Now, when I see so few lasting into the decades, I begin to think that there is a lot of luck involved also. Diana and I celebrated out 40th last June. We were both park rangers, at Grand Canyon, when we met in March of 1967, started dating in April and married in June. Twenty years after that we ran into a friend that we had not seen in the intervening years. “I can’t believe it,” he said. “The years do get by,” one of us replied, thinking this was what he was talking about. “Yep,” he said. “I can’t believe you two are still together! When you got married we put a pool together on how long it would last. The longest anyone gave you was Christmas. Now, that’s been 20 years ago!" Diana and I started laughing as he pensively added, “We had to give all the money back!” |

| | Re: 47th anniversary Congratulations, Jim!
My wife and I just celebrated #40 this past June, and are looking forward to many more. She bought me an iPhone for my present, and I'm taking her and our granddaughter to London at Christmas for her present (her idea-I was thinking jewelry).
