Default wood burning beginner

I am just getting into woodburning. I have a Detail Master"Sabre" burner. I don't want to spend the family fortune on burning tips. I am trying to find a way to use other makes of tips on my unit. iwant one like the colwood " J "tip. Any suggestions?

I don't know if I have done this correctly or not. That is why I have not been posting any questions.
Thanks,
berkbcSmile

Hello berkbc,

welcome to the greatest site for carvers and burners.

I, too, am a novice burner. Mostly I carve sticks but I started to burn designs to enhance them. I'm sorry I can't answer your question but I'm sure someone will.

Hi Berkbc,

Colwood makes a cord #0850 that will allow you to use their pens on a Detailmaster burner. Razertip also makes an adaptor cord that will allow you to use their pens on a Detailmaster burner. It would be their #3 cord. Razertip also has a tip similar to the "J" which is the #2S or #2SC

Thank you. Not sure if you're referring to the American pride or the golden eagle but the latter is my favorite. Eagles are one of my favorite subjects to woodburn.

I had only seen the one eagle on your website. Tonight I looked at others. They are all great. Berkbc

Here's a link to some of them. There were others but I wasn't thrilled with them so I never put them on the site. Birds of Prey Pyrography Art Gallery
