Wow!!! What beautiful work, everyone!

Susan, that fairy is unbelievable!! Of course, you knew I'd love her, didn't you! Oh to be able to carve something that fantastic!! She's perfect, absolutely perfect!! Thanks so much for sharing her with us!

Oh yes, I also loved the little 'off topic' turn this post took....Mel Gibson...Ohhhh Yeahhhh! That's a turn I'd take off on too! Wink Deborah

I got the hair ornament - pine cones, pine needles and berry sticks - done this morning. I can see right away that I desperately need to shade the hair underneath that ornament. Right now I have this floating in space, totally disconnected pine thingie hanging over her head ... Red Face Even I know I'm not done this section yet but .... whoa ... talk about Lost in Space!

I also added a few loose, wandering hairs along the outside on the left. I didn't like how stiff the line was through that area and wanted to soften it some.

Deborah, If anyone could do her justice in a carving it would have to be you! Thanks for the nice words and for joining in the converstation.

As for Dear, Sweet Mel I think we will have to be careful about talking too much on that subject. I sure don't want to be accused on entrophy ??? Or worst, of sexism and turning this into a Chic Thread ....Sarcastic

Susan

(Whisper-whisper- so Nedra when are you going to post Mel as a separate thread so all of us gals have a very reasonable excuse to Oh and Ah over him?)

LOL!

I have added the some shading under the hair ornament and once again darked the background hair behind her shoulder. I think that I will be adding just a little more dark toning in the hair shadow area later. I did just a little of the collar area.

Now, I am afraid that this project just got put on hold until some time next week ... perhaps. My favorite pen, which is an interchangeable one, snapped it's soder joint on one of the copper receptors. So I am dead in the water here until I get over to Nedra's site to get a replacement. Just an absolutely freak accident but .....

Sorry!

Susan

Sad Oh know Susan, does this mean we have to wait? Wish I was closer you could use my writing tip for your finish. By the way which size writing tip are you using? I have the small writing tip and it's a real good one...would be neat to have all three. I think there is a medium one? I love the pinecone, needles and berry sticks just adds further to a fine portrait. Ahhh Mel G, next to my hubby and Robert Redford he's in the running.....tee hee....
Susan for your next one how about a pixie with her arms around a wood spirit that looks like Mel GibsonQuestion Look what you started Nedra....LOL
