Well, I have the burning to the Winter Bird House completed. In just a few days I will have all of the burning steps posted to that thread. I want to add coloring to this burning. I believe that this design is perfect for some bright red and orange berries, holly green leaves and golds and grays for our birds. But ... I would like to know what coloring technique you would like to learn! Please post your preferences here. Watercolors Wax based colored pencils Oil paint glazes Susan |

Hi Susan. How wonderful. I wouldn't mind any of them but the one I would be most interested in would be the oil based glazes. I have some experience in and have read about the other two but have not any experience or seen any instructions on the glazes before. So that sounds very intriguing and interesting to me. Thanks again for all you do. Look forward to whatever is chosen. Will be watching with bells on. Bouncing S Blessings, Tina aka teeburn

Hi Susan, color yes, yes actually I'd love all three, but can't be Mrs. Piggy, so I'd like Watercolor, as I've had experience with the other two. Thanks again, for all your work on this tutorial, and hopefully this is one that can go into your next book on Pyrography if and when you do another. I have your 'Great Book of Woodburning' and it's great. I have several of your books and if we ever get a chance to meet I'll have them all with me asking for an autograph. I'll give you plenty of advance notice so you can get those fingers limbered up--I'll even furnish the pen. LOL Thanks Again, Kathy

I guess I'm kind of aligned with the other "posters" so far in that all three sound interesting, and each, I'm sure, would come with its own set of challenges. However, I think I'm most intriqued with the oil glazes, but would need a list of supplies because I have dabbled in this sort of thing before. That said, I will go with the flow of the majority, because what ever method you present is almost certain to teach this old dog some new tricks!

What was ever decided? Which media was it finished in? I didn't see it posted in the tutoria, was there one I missed? Thanks, Jim |

I join the watercolor voters. Now and then I use gouache but never oils. Tried it and didn't like it. I am experimenting with watercolor pencils. Would that be a possibility?
