Awe gee Nancy,
I thought you did that on purpose. Thanks for the input. I have been forwarding replies to my friend and tonight she just wants me to speak to Cheryl and go with what ever she says to buy. So, that's the plan, I guess. I sort of wish she had looked into it thoroughly months ago but she just made a big move and bought her own place up in Idaho. She had other things on her mind. I hope she enjoys woodburning and really gets into it.

I should head to bead now. Tomorrow is going to be a long day.......

Thank you to everyone who chimed in on this thread. I think I have convinced my friend to join and hang out here when she gets started.

Well, mission accomplished.....for better or for worse. I got to the show site early this morning and headed straight over to Cheryl Dow's booth before I set my display up, to get this job done before they opened the doors to the public. Cheryl was so nice. She gave me her recomendations and I got the Optima 1, 3 pens, a copy of Cheryl's DVD and some wood for my friend in Idaho. I called my friend and opps, forgot about the time difference....got her out of bed, but she sounded happy to know that the burner had been bought, along with all the other stuff. So now, I just need to get the stuff to her. She is in Moore, Idaho and was hoping to locate a club or classes within 50 miles of where she is. But the DVD should be helpful.

Thanks again to everyone for their input.

You are a good friend susieq and I think your friend will be very pleased with what you got her. Our club has the DVD and it is a good one. Tell your friend to share with us when she gets settled in with everything. We would enjoy it.

You bet, teeburn,
I plan on keeping her involved if at all possible. She has been my best friend through all 4 years of high school up to the present and we graduated in 1970.......

She took forever to take this first step, but hopefully the DVD will inspire her to jump right in. I have urged her to join the forum. She did tell me that she has lurked on the pyrography section since I told her about it. I think we will see her on here as a member before too long.
