Default using writing tips / ball to print or write

i have trouble using a writing tip or small ball to write or print.
wherever i stop or stop,it leaves a dark spot and thus the finished writing or printing looks irregular or "blotchy". even if i move the pen very slowly,it still does it when i start /stop.

any suggestijons to improve ???

Can you tell us what system you are using? Is it adjustable? What type of wood?

Hi Mike, that's true for any pen tip. When you stop or when you hesitate you allow the tip to rest on the wood just a moment longer than it has touched the rest of the stroke. Therefore that leaves a small dot that is darker than the rest of the line.

Strokes need to be 'pulled through'. You continue the motion of the stroke as you lift the pen from the wood. Grab a scrap of wood and practice moving your hand as a pendulum where you are in motion before the tip hits the wood and still in motion as it leaves the wood.
